Third Time Chapter to be Sponsored Expo Charity

For the third time Chicago's Original Sewing & Quilt Expo  at the Tinley Convention Center in Tinley Park, IL will be sponsoring QCK as the Expo's charity. The event will be held Nov. 15-17 at the Tinley Park Convention Center. Our booth space, electricity and tables will be provided by the Expo's producers. Linda Zs along with Brother will be providing four sewing machines for use during the show. Quilters Haven in Rockford, IL will provide a Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen free motion quilting machine for use during the expo. Deb's Quiltery will provide: professional quilting services, Pellon cotton batting, and Supeior thread for all quilts created during the Expo. The booth will also have cutting and pressing stations.

The booth will allow sewers/quilters attending the Expo to stop by and work on quilts for as long as they desire. Our goal for the three-day event is 25 quilts, in March 2012 we completed 19. The quilts will be donated to Chicago Children's Memorial Hospital oncology unit.

If you are interested in volunteering to work as a Show Ambassador please click here for more information. You can get free show admission and earn free classes.

We are hopeful that the expsoure from this year's second Original Sewing & Quilt Expo will help QFK Illinois Chapter meet our monthly goal of 50 quilts.
